Perplexity has everyone talking. It’s overhyped.
Perplexity was trending on X, talking about the death of the Bloomberg Terminal. The WSJ even put out a story:
The long story short is that Bloomberg isn’t going anywhere. They have a moat across their chat rooms and news and access to every single possible asset class from stocks, treasuries, munis, CDS, Swaps, FX, exotic options, listed options, futures, commodities, prediction markets, crypto, and more. It’s not easy to disrupt, and it’s a waste of time writing about the dearth of Bloomberg. Can we chip away at some of their products? Yes. Is $FDS ( ▲ 0.14% ) $LNSTY ( ▲ 0.3% ) $MORN ( ▼ 0.35% ) and in some cases $SPGI ( ▼ 0.32% ) under more threat from AI and AI-native companies? Absolutely. Fiscal.ai is a good Social Leverage portfolio company in Fund IV that is building fundamental data API’s covering global companies leveraging AI to make it possible to deliver data faster, cheaper, more accurately, with better terms and conditions. All of this is possible and more with 100x fewer people. This is just the start of where we see the possibilities going for data companies.
Data & Information Services is not the sexiest public market industry, but there are some behemoths in this category from S&P to Moody’s to Verisk. Lots of opportunity for the scrappy startups to build and compete.
The AI your stack deployed is losing customers.
You shipped it. It works. Tickets are resolving. So why are customers leaving?
Gladly's 2026 Customer Expectations Report uncovered a gap that most CIOs don't see until it's too late: 88% of customers get their issues resolved through AI — but only 22% prefer that company afterward. Resolution without loyalty is just churn on a delay.
The difference isn't the model. It's the architecture. How AI is integrated into the customer journey, what it hands off and when, and whether the system is designed to build relationships or just close tickets.
Download the report to see what consumers actually expect from AI-powered service — and what the data says about the platforms getting it right.
If you're responsible for the infrastructure, you're responsible for the outcome.
