Chris Camillo, a good friend, is the king of social arb investing. He teaches how to recognize trends that are happening around you from people wearing Crocs and HeyDude Shoes to the changes in drinking behavior from beer to hard seltzer. Watching the Dumb Money shows, you can feel the community's excitement!

Jack Schwager wrote the Unknown Market Wizards which shares Chris’s story of how he uses social arbitrage for investing. The focus on leveraging information that isn’t fully recognized by Wall St. My favorite trades that Chris has had over the years are in Crocs, Abercrombie, Coors, Mattel, & FunkoPop. Chris puts in the hard work. He spends hours every night reading every single comment on TikTok. He does channel checks. I even remember the story of one of his Dumb Money community members flying their personal plane to a factory where Peloton was being built to get a sense of inventory levels coming out of the factory. The power of the community working together on research and diligence is wild. Its like an expert network meets channel checks meets survey research. Democratizing the expert network, and decentralizing it in the future is a big opportunity.

Chris and I met when he was building Tickertags which was a product to help identify trends in the market using social tags. He eventually sold it to Mscience. We have stayed close ever since, investing together, and always thinking about new opportunities. It’s guys like Chris that make investing in both public and private markets so much fun.

Working on some new ideas with Chris and am excited to share them in the near future.
