Nobody's coming to approve your idea

People assume that real businesses get built by other people with more resources. It's how great ideas get stuck in notes apps and conversations.

But you don't need six months and a developer's salary to validate your concept. You just need a weekend. Describe what you want to exist and Lovable builds it: a real site, a real product, ready to accept real payments from real customers. Not a mockup to show people. An actual thing they can use.

You don't need anyone's sign-off to get started. Take $5 off your first month.

Discount of $5 applies to first month of any paid plan. You need to sign up via this webpage in order to claim the discount. The discount applies to new and returning users without an active paid plan. Terms apply.

Raise or sell? The question many founders ask themselves.

Not raising $100m? Not growing 10x? Not at $5m in revenue within 18 months? Not in a hot category? In a hot category, but facing the question of raise big or go home?

I have heard from many founders who have raised pre-seed rounds or even seed rounds and are now debating: do I sell to a large incumbent or another startup for $50m-$100m, or do I try to raise a large round to compete? Many founders I am hearing from want to sell and start over. Try a new angle. Build a more AI native company. Focus on a different sector or industry, or get away from what they originally set out to build. Many of these founders have revenue and good growth, but not good enough in this AI world.

I think what’s important here is founders having optionality. Raise too much at too high a valuation, and you are stuck. Raise the right amount, from the right investors, while you make sure you have product-market fit with the real chance of building a moat, and then decide how big this can really be. For many founders, walking away at $75m-$100m is a nice exit, especially if relatively quick. Also with the ability for investors to roll partial QSBS tax benefits into another investment, the opportunity to recycle small winners is real. Win-win for everyone.
