Will Zoom be the Future Ecommerce Winner?
I am waiting for the day when we can buy things we see in a Zoom meeting. Imagine buying the shirt someone is wearing, the hat, the coffee mug they drink out of, the microphone they are speaking out of, the art on the wall behind them. With the amount of time we spend on Zoom meetings, the opportunity to make purchases in-Zoom is HUGE!
I wonder if this already exists or if someone is already building this. Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Sequel (Disclosure- Social Leverage is an investor)whatever you use for video calls, the integration of an e-commerce store. I could see my Chico State alum Braydon at Sendoso integrating so you can easily get the corporate swag you see in a call.
There could even be affiliate revenue streams. Imagine someone buys the coffee cup I am drinking out of and also there is a link to the coffee I brew? Or maybe I am drinking a Liquid Death water, a flavor the person on the Zoom has never seen before and they can one-click and purchase a case. Making everything from the office accessories to the clothing a person is wearing purchasable would make those boring video meetings 10x more exciting. Sponsorships too! Like in the movies when there is product placement. People would start getting sponsored to wear certain clothing and drink/eat certain products during their Zoom meetings.
We have all these live buying platforms which are especially popular in Asia. Exciting to think about the future of embeddable purchasing within Zoom meetings!
