When you go to Montreal, you have to try the smoked meat sandwich at Schwartz’s. For anyone from NYC or thats been to NYC and had Katz’s deli, Schwartz’s is very similar!

Back to the reason for being in Montreal outside of the sandwich - This is my second year in a row making the trip for the Portage Confluence event which is also held during Fintech Week. It was a great opportunity to meet companies, network with other investors, and Portage always puts on a top notch event. Finchat.io, Archive Intel and Alpaca from the Social Leverage portfolio were in town as well. The speed dating 15 minute meetings were the highlight for our portfolio companies. Similar to FutureProofs quick 15 minute meetings, no better way to pack in a few days of networking/meeting especially for startups.

For Fintech startups, making the trip up to Canada is well worth the time. We are active investors in Canada at Social Leverage with many founders based in Toronto.

And don’t for get- get the smoked meat sandwich while in town, you won’t regret it.
