October is conference season - next up is Money 2020
You would think by now they would rebrand again, go with 2099 or like the Token 2049, at least its years away. But does the name really matter? Most are descending on Las Vegas this week to meet fintech companies, fintech investors, and anyone building in and around financial services. There are entire websites dedicated to the events and parties outside the main conference. There are more people attending the external parties and networking events then the actual conference.
I land today and am looking forward to meeting mainly with other investors. As an early stage investor, there aren’t a lot of seed stage companies in attendance. It is a great event for my mature companies and for me to spend time with investors that we invest along side of or that are looking at the companies in our portfolio that are raising.
I am interested to hear how people are thinking about agentic commerce, opportunities in prediction markets for institutions, what gets investors excited in wealth management, and what people think about some of the data & information services companies buidling to take on $SPGI ( ▼ 0.42% ) $FDS ( ▲ 0.51% ) $MCO ( ▼ 0.79% ) & $CSGP ( ▼ 1.55% )
