MCP can lead to M&A. MCP is the new App Store.
Is the MCP the new M&A? Try before you buy. In a world where everybody wants consolidation, and you think about, from a data perspective, all these APIs that you're consuming, everybody's moving to an MCP.
It makes a ton of sense if you're already an end user using Claude or OpenAI or any form of AI. You want an MCP so you can integrate it into your scripts, agents, skills, so forth and so on. But why do we need to integrate every single company's MCP, especially if you think about the world of data buying and data selling?
In a typical hedge fund, for example, or large financial institution, you may have hundreds if not thousands of data vendors, data products, and APIs, unless you're still pulling through an FTP or native Snowflake integration, and instead of setting up each one of these MCPs and permissioning what if it were all consolidated?
CarbonArc is a great example of a firm that's been aggregating & consolidating a lot of the data vendors into their ontology and into their knowledge graph, which is available through their MCP. I know this because they partner with initialdataoffering.com. So with a CarbonArc MCP and Claude, I get access to hundreds of vendors that they've already built into their stack, instead of having to work with all of these vendors directly.
Why not integrate into CarbonArc and then as an end user I can see everything together. There's a lot of $3 to $10 million in revenue data vendors that can't find an exit or buyer, and the end consumers would love to have less vendors and more consolidation. I think it's a win on both sides. So is MCP a future way to figure out M&A? If I was $FDS ( ▼ 3.21% ) or $SPGI ( ▲ 1.11% ) why wouldn't I acquire somebody who's been aggregating all these datasets into their MCP? Or have an MCP with all these smaller vendors in there, and as I see the ones getting the most traction through my platform, it's an easier decision on who I'm going to acquire. If MCP is the new app store and we constantly are talking about a super app, whether it's X or $META ( ▼ 1.04% ) or if you go globally there's multiple super apps across Singapore and China, what if in a data consumption environment, where everybody's hungry for more data and more APIs, what if the MCP is the new form of consolidation and ultimately the ones who figure out the MCP consolidation becomes the new form of M&A due diligence and deal flow!?!

AI Agents Are Reading Your Docs. Are You Ready?
Last month, 48% of visitors to documentation sites across Mintlify were AI agents, not humans.
Claude Code, Cursor, and other coding agents are becoming the actual customers reading your docs. And they read everything.
This changes what good documentation means. Humans skim and forgive gaps. Agents methodically check every endpoint, read every guide, and compare you against alternatives with zero fatigue.
Your docs aren't just helping users anymore. They're your product's first interview with the machines deciding whether to recommend you.
That means: clear schema markup so agents can parse your content, real benchmarks instead of marketing fluff, open endpoints agents can actually test, and honest comparisons that emphasize strengths without hype.
Mintlify powers documentation for over 20,000 companies, reaching 100M+ people every year. We just raised a $45M Series B led by @a16z and @SalesforceVC to build the knowledge layer for the agent era.
