Initial Data Offering Launches Premium Membership

The Initial Data Offering (IDO) community is a place for data enthusiasts to discover new datasets daily.

The mission is to build a community of data enthusiasts and curate high-quality, unique datasets for businesses, researchers, and organizations worldwide.

Initial Data Offering continues to see a growing community of data buyers, sellers and enthusiasts signing up to find out about the latest datasets coming to market. Based on feedback from the community, IDO has now launched the Premium Membership.

What do Premium Members get?

• Premium Members get early access to new datasets listing on the Initial Data Offering website. Premium members will be made aware of all datasets that are being listed on the platform, weeks and sometimes months in advance.

• Additionally, premium subscribers will find out about any data business that is submitted to the platform For Sale. If you are looking to acquire a data business, sign up for premium to find out about companies actively looking to sell.

Many communities members have reached out and asked what’s the backlog of datasets coming to market in the Fall? Are there healthcare datasets launching in the next few weeks? How can I find out or see a forward looking calendar of what IDO will be announcing in the future? Premium Members will now see everything coming up in the future.

The other thing we hear at IDO constantly is, what companies are actively looking for buyers? How do I ensure as a data company owner that is interested in selling my business, that the users are serious buyers? Premium Members will have access to all companies that are interested in selling their business. As I wrote in a previous posting “How to Sell Your Data Business”, selling a business with sub $10m or even $5m or even $1m in revenue is not easy. BizbuySell, Acquire.com are great, but they don’t cater to data & information services companies. IDO Premium Membership is out to solve that problem by making it easier to find actively interested data & information services company buyers. Buyers include PE funds, PE backed companies, larger data companies, hedge funds, and individuals looking to acquire a business.

Premium Membership isn’t for everyone and the Initial Data Offering website will continue to be free for both data buyers and for data vendors to list datasets coming to market. The world of data is an exciting place to be involved in right now and IDO looks to make it easier for vendors to find clients and ultimately find buyers of their business.
