We have Product Hunt for announcing new products. We have G2 for software reviews. We don’t have any place for announcing new datasets….Until Now!
I am excited to announce Initial Data Offering. A place where new datasets will be announced. Simple and easy to request an introduction. A place to submit the new datasets you are bringing to market. A place to submit an old dataset that hasn’t been showcased to the right community of interested potential clients and partners. Like an IPO (Initial Public Offering), IDO (Initial Data Offering) will be an exciting day for the company to announce its dataset.
When a company starts selling a new dataset, how do they announce it? When a company builds a new data product, how do they showcase this to a community of data buyers, data partners, data enthusiasts, and other data sellers? We have data marketplaces. We have data research and paid data libraries. What we don’t have is a curated place for announcements of new datasets that are applicable to any and all industries.
This has been something I have been thinking about for many many years. I am excited to build this community. Announcements of Initial Data Offerings will be via the website. Please subscribe for updates to your inbox here. I also encourage you to follow the company on Linkedin where we will also announce new IDO’s. At first, we plan to have the team curate what datasets are announced. Over time we will do partnerships and explore other opportunities.
