I Need to Own a Coffee Shop

Nothing extravagant. But I’d love to be a coffee shop owner
I’d keep it simple. We serve coffee- all the basics, drip, espresso-based drinks, cold brews, and some teas. Then some basic food-bakery items we outsource to a nice local bakery to have muffins, croissants, cookies, and some bagels or donuts. In-house we do a killer breakfast burrito. Something like what the Los Tacos guys in NYC do with their El Donkey Breakfast Burrito- If you haven’t tried it, it’s a must!
The wifi needs to be top-notch. The rest of the place just needs to be clean with a good staff. A place where you can sit, order, and do work.
In San Diego, I find myself working at a coffee shop every so often to switch up the routine and get off my phone. I like the simplicity of Surfdog Java Hut or Champagne Bakery. There is also CoffeeCoffee or FourTillFour- both of which are in Leucadia.
Why do I want to own a coffee shop? I know they are not the greatest investment, but it’s more of a place call my own. Host meetings. It’s simple. Owning a restaurant sounds glamorous, but I know from talking to my friends who own a restaurant that it’s a ton of work and so hard to turn a profit.

Nice small coffee shop from recent NYC trip

The AI burritos need some work…..
Big Tech Has Spent Billions Acquiring AI Smart Home Startups
The pattern is clear: when innovative companies successfully integrate AI into everyday products, tech giants pay billions to acquire them.
Google paid $3.2B for Nest.
Amazon spent $1.2B on Ring.
Generac spent $770M on EcoBee.
Now, a new AI-powered smart home company is following their exact path to acquisition—but is still available to everyday investors at just $1.90 per share.
With proprietary technology that connects window coverings to all major AI ecosystems, this startup has achieved what big tech wants most: seamless AI integration into daily home life.
Over 10 patents, 200% year-over-year growth, and a forecast to 5x revenue this year — this company is moving fast to seize the smart home opportunity.
The acquisition pattern is predictable. The opportunity to get in before it happens is not.
