Everyone wants the best talent. Talent wars are real.
Every startup and large organization wants to hire the best engineering and AI talent. That hasn’t changed. What I am seeing more and more is that it’s harder and harder to hire the best sales talent. Not just sales leaders, but the top individual contributors. Everyone is paying top dollar, but it really takes founders with compelling stories, visions, and effort to close the best talent. I think both are accurate. The largest companies, even the most innovative like $HOOD ( ▼ 1.49% ) are cutting headcount. But at the same time, the best companies are always and more and more, always hiring and recruiting the top talent.
I find the best founders are good at two things: keeping the business funded (constantly raising or keeping investors warm) and recruiting the best talent. If you aren’t recruiting the best talent, you will never scale. When you find the best, they elevate the company to a new level and allow you, as the founder, to do more of what you are best at.
In a world where AI lets everyone be a developer, and its easier and easier to build an MVP, prototype and in some cases a basic working product, the key to success is your sales/marketing/distribution.
