CME is bringing fee hikes. Nothing is free!

End-of-day pricing is no longer free. “CME ended free end‑of‑day (EOD) licenses for CME, CBOT, Nymex and Comex and reclassified EOD as delayed data, triggering new fees for direct users and users through Bloomberg Data License and LSEG DataScope.”

The exchanges have so much power, and the terms and conditions can change any day. The cost can go up any day. Live data costs, end-of-day data costs, display fees vs. black box use fees, the list goes on and on. Will people fight it? Will we see lawsuits? Likely going to happen, but it’s not going to slow down $CME ( ▼ 1.7% ) from raking in the $$$$$

It’s nice to be in the driver's seat like $CME ( ▼ 1.7% ) and control pricing with few options for end users to go to for an alternative. It is also what makes me excited about what Fiscal.ai is doing in the fundamental data space. Unlike the exchanges, the incumbents like $FDS ( ▼ 4.09% ) $LNSTY ( ▲ 0.3% ) & $SPGI ( ▼ 2.21% ) have to deal with the upstarts shaking up terms and conditions, pricing, revenue models, and how the competition is here for fundamental data and endless other datasets they sell.

The exchanges can push pricing around, but the rest of the data providers have to innovate, as the innovative AI native companies are coming quickly!
