Before I dive into today's, post, I wanted to highlight a great Happy Hour being put on by the World of DaaS team in DC. RSVP if you can make it!

Moving on, Royal Park puts out their Fintech Monthly updates, and I wanted to highlight some things that stood out to me as I look forward to getting their monthly email.

First, they have a great market map that they constantly update. We see tons of these, but given their focus on the fintech space, this is one I find interesting.

When we invest in the early stage, the TAM and SAM are always discussed. The later-stage investors are always thinking more about public market comps. At Social Leverage we spend a lot of time looking at public market valuations and investing in tools that make public market investing easier, like Finchat.io Royal Park does a nice job of giving us valuations by verticals in this slide:

A topic on most investors’ minds is when will liquidity open up. M&A, IPOs, etc! Well, the July numbers for Fintech are in and the take private of Envestnet is a good example of bigger deals getting done. Unfortunately, Envsetnet was the only real public market comp for wealthtech. The good news is that leaves an open space for wealthtech companies to go public and really drive strong multiples, but the downside is we don’t have any pure play at this point which I think will make some late-stage VCs hesitant to invest in wealthtech.

The last slide I grabbed was just a quick way to glance at the financials of the data & information services giants including the exchanges. As data becomes more and more valuable with the world leaning into AI, following this group of public companies is a fun way to see how public market investors value data.

Thanks to Royal Park for putting this together.
