Expert Surveys Suck

Expert surveys are a miserable experience. It’s time for a change!

The experience as an expert taking a survey with GLG, Guidepoint, Coleman or the dozens of other expert networks is miserable. Granted all these expert networks seem to outsource the software and technology they use to a few third parties. But why? As an end user half the time the surveys bug out in the middle, or you click on them and the survey isn’t active even though it’s only been a few minutes since it was sent to you. The UI looks like it was designed in the early 90’s. They are never mobile friendly.

I can’t imagine spending 10s of thousands of dollars if not millions to run surveys, and know that my end consumer are getting a shitty experience. Granted they pay nicely. $50 for a 10min survey or higher in some cases. But why not modernize? Why not leverage a modern UI?

The even bigger opportunity in my mind is to start using AI voice technology for surveys. I am biased with our investment in Ribbon.ai at Social Leverage, but the opportunity to leverage voice technology is huge! Think about how much more information you can capture. The experience for the end consumer can be so much greater as well too. I could take the survey on my airpods while walking the dog or while in the car.

The data you capture from voice can be tremendous. You can not only allow for better free form answers, but you can also capture sentiment and voice inflections.

I am running some of my own surveys, to better understand the data buyer community. What types of data people want to buy and also what types of data companies people want to acquire. This is a survey that InitialDataOffering.com is running with Ribbon.ai and I will share the results and reports Ribbon generates. Please take 2-3 minutes to take the survey HERE & experience the voice AI capabilities.

Expert surveys should be better. Expert survey taking should be more enjoyable. There are lots of issues for survey takers thats annoying; the UI, and technology experience shouldn’t be one of them.
