Expert networks are changing. What does the future look like?

Alphasense came out recently and announced that they are diving deep into Voice AI for their expert network. From calls to channel checks, they are leaning into voice AI heavily.

Voice AI capabilities and the opportunity in the expert network industry are something I have spent a lot of time working on and thinking about over the last 2 years. Our portfolio company Ribbon.ai is one of the leading Voice AI technology companies and their API is being used by a handful of expert networks to leverage voice technology for calls. Similar to Alphasense, these firms have opened their eyes to the huge opportunity.

As an expert, voice AI is amazing. You can now take a call 24/7. No longer do you have to align your calendar with the company looking to talk to you. Taking calls 24/7 is like taking a phone screen interview 24/7- the experience, flexibility, and opportunity are endless. For expert networks, you can now run more calls, lower prices, and your Voice AI gets smarter the more calls you do. If you haven’t tried out Ribbon.ai for interviewing candidates or for expert network calls, I highly recommend a demo. The experience of talking to a Voice AI is scary good.

Another portfolio company of ours at Social Leverage is dipping its toe into the expert network space, but as a byproduct of its main offering. SlashExperts is a platform that allows companies selling in the B2B space to connect their prospects with their customers who are experts to accelerate deals. What’s the best way to close a prospect? Connect them to one of your clients who is not only a die-hard fan, but also an expert on your product. The number of times I have taken a call to tell someone about my experience using a product they are debating signing up for is endless. The exciting part about what /Experts is building is the byproduct, which is the largest verified expert network. Companies are saying, “This person is an expert in our product,” and then they are compensated for taking calls as a reference. This compensation is a thank you for their time or could be a donation to the charity of their choice. Either way, /Experts is quietly building out an amazing expert network! The future opportunity for them is endless. From partnerships with Ribbon.ai to more tools and products for their clients.

Expert networks will look very different in 5 years. Tegus originally changed the game with transcripts and then Alphasense acquired them. Whose the next Tegus or Alphasense?
