The Initial Data Offering (IDO) community is a place for data enthusiasts to discover new datasets daily.

The mission is to build a community of data enthusiasts and curate high-quality, unique datasets for businesses, researchers, and organizations worldwide.

Crowdsourcing data hunting- the next evolution of Initial Data Offering. The Data Bounty Program will allow community members to offer bounties to help find, hunt, and introduce data vendors with datasets that they are looking for. What is a Data Bounty? It’s a reward or prize that will be gifted to the community member who helps find the dataset in demand. This could be tickets to an F1 Race, tickets to a conference, a trip to Las Vegas, cash $$$, and many more exciting rewards.

The goal for Initial Data Offering has always been to build a community of passionate individuals focused on data buyers, data sellers, and data enthusiasts. Based on numerous inbound requests, we have listened to the community and are launching the Data Bounty Program.

I have seen how powerful crowdsourcing can be for building datasets, but what if we reward the community for helping each other find data? That is what’s next and I think it could be very exciting for both those who are posting bounties and those who are knowledgeable about the space and want to claim the bounties by helping recommend/introduce vendors with the data in demand.
