It's rare to see Chico State alumni in the news. Chico State alumni invests in Chico State alumni

Social Leverage is excited to invest in SlashExperts which was founded by Chico State alumni Braydan Young. This is the first investment for us out of our Fund V. This isn’t Braydan’s first rodeo either, he previously cofounded the successful company Sendoso.com which is known for coming up with the idea of offering Starbucks gift cards for sales meetings. The company has since grown into a massive platform for gifting and direct mail that helps revenue teams double win rates, 6x second call rates, and close deals 29% faster.

Braydan and I first met at Chico State as students but only knew briefly of each other. It wasn’t till a few years ago that we got back in touch as we both now sit on the board of governors for California State University Chico. While sitting on the board together, Braydan shared with me his new idea, and vision for SlashExperts. What got me excited was the fact that every B2B sales team can resonate with the problem and solution they are offering. When you are selling, oftentimes, clients ask to meet a current client or try to back channel to talk to a current client about their experience. Why not make this process more efficient? Why not automate a lot of this effort? Why not make it easy to compensate your clients for their time and effort? What if then you can build the world’s largest network of experts? The possibilities of where this goes and the value of this expert network are endless.

At Social Leverage, we focus on investing in people and in ideas where we feel like we can really help. SlashExperts should be used by every B2B sales team. We also jumped at the opportunity to back an experienced founder who graduated from Chico State 🙂
