Tegus changed the game. Ribbon.ai is the next wave.
Tegus, which was acquired by AlphaSense, was a real disruptor in expert networks. They drove down the costs of what experts were paid, but also were a first mover on building a transcript library and SaaS model. The value of their transcripts was immense and was a real change for the industry.
Ribbon.ai, which is a Social Leverage Fund IV company, continues to innovate in the expert network space. They are a technology provider and not an expert network themselves. Their voice AI capabilities, combined with the new sourcing tool is a huge game changer.
You can now source 1B+ experts leveraging their tool and then instantly book an expert call leveraging their voice AI, which then generates a transcript, which you can then leverage all their tools to analyze the transcript. All of this is white-label and available via API. The voice AI is really good. I have done voice AI calls with them as an investor, and it’s super impressive.
For the incumbent expert networks, now is the time. You can flip the script. You can drastically reduce your costs, and you can plug & play with Ribbon.ai and now change not only how you source but also how you do the expert calls. You can move fast and integrate even faster.
For the new expert networks, the opportunity is tremendous. This is essentially an expert network in a box. The opportunity to build innovation on Ribbon is going to be exciting to see.
