Lots of announcements from the Summer Release Event!

As investors, one of the questions we constantly ask is:

What business is this company actually becoming?

Today's Beehiiv Summer Release answered that question pretty clearly. They're no longer building a newsletter platform. They're building the operating system for independent media businesses.

That's a much bigger opportunity.

When Beehiiv launched, it competed with Mailchimp, Substack, ConvertKit, and others. Today, it's competing with an entire stack of software. Think about what a successful creator or media company typically pieces together today:

  • Newsletter platform

  • Discord or Circle community

  • Podcast hosting

  • Website builder

  • Gumroad or Shopify

  • Analytics tools

  • AI writing tools

  • Advertising marketplace

Every one of those creates friction. Every one of those means another subscription, another integration, another place where your audience data becomes fragmented. Beehiiv's strategy is becoming increasingly obvious:

Own the audience relationship from the first subscriber to the largest customer.

That's an attractive business.

The Biggest Announcement Wasn't AI

Ironically, the biggest announcement wasn't another AI feature. It was Community. Creators can now build native communities directly inside Beehiiv instead of sending users to Discord, Slack, Facebook Groups, or Circle. The important part isn't that Beehiiv built another community product. It's that the community already understands your audience. It knows:

  • What newsletters they read

  • Which podcast episodes they listened to

  • Whether they're a paying subscriber

  • What products they've purchased

  • How long they've been part of your audience

That context compounds. Every new product becomes smarter because every other product feeds it. That's a difficult moat to replicate.

The Flywheel Gets Stronger

Beehiiv also announced:

  • Native podcast hosting

  • AI-generated websites

  • Digital product sales with 0% platform fees

  • Metered paywalls

  • Paid trials

  • Group subscriptions

  • A dramatically improved advertising marketplace

  • Beehiiv Copilot, an AI agent that understands your audience and business

None of these features alone are revolutionary. Together, they create a much stronger flywheel. A podcast grows the newsletter. The newsletter feeds the community. The community sells digital products. Digital products create subscribers. Subscribers generate better advertising inventory. AI optimizes the entire system. That's platform thinking.

One stat stood out to me. Publishers have now generated over $50 million in subscription revenue on Beehiiv while keeping 100% of it. The more creators build businesses directly on Beehiiv, the harder it becomes to leave. As investors, we spend a lot of time looking for products that become infrastructure. Beehiiv is starting to look less like software for newsletters and more like infrastructure for the creator economy. That's a very different investment thesis than it was just a few years ago.

One Account. Every Market. No Closing Bell.

Markets don't wait for Monday. News breaks on a Saturday morning, and most traders can do nothing but watch.

Not on Liquid. Trade domestic and international equities, commodities, forex, crypto, and prediction markets — all from one account, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Liquid gives you access to any market, from anywhere, anytime. To us, access is arbitrage.

Getting started takes under 10 minutes: log in with Google, deposit with Apple Pay or a bank transfer, and trade from your phone or desktop — wherever you are in the world.

While everyone else is refreshing headlines and waiting for the open, you're already positioned. That's the difference between reacting to markets and actually trading them.
